Trader Joe's mini tote bags coming back. What we know about when

A new release of viral mini canvas tote bags at Trader Joe is coming, and this time it will have spring twist.

A pastel version of the popular mini canvas tote bags is said to be coming soon to Trader Joe. The bags have been known to go quickly, particularly because there is an active reselling market online, with sellers getting far more for them than the $2.99 retail price.

Previous releases of the bag were in green, red, yellow and blue, but this time they will be pastels.

"We have plans to release mini canvas totes in April in Trader Joe’s stores across the country," a Trader Joe's spokesperson said in an email. "The exact date they will be available in each neighborhood Trader Joe’s will vary."

As each store sets its own merchandizing strategy, the spokesperson recommended asking a Trader Joe's crew member about local availability

The Instagram account TraderJoeObssessed is circulation photos that show pink, blue, green and purple versions of the bag, and is saying the bag will launch the second week of April.

The Reno Gazette and Journal, part of the USA Today Network, is reporting that at least on Trader Joe location will be launching the bags on April 7. They said the bags will sell for $2.99 and there will be a limit of 2 per customer at most locations.

Trader Joe's has had several bags go viral.

Earlier this year, they released the insulated mini totes in pink and purple for $3.99 a bag that were also quite popular. They also sell a larger version of the bag for $7.99.
